The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the brand’s latest mid-size SUV designed to offer a strong blend of modern styling, technology, comfort and versatility. Launched in September 2025, it sits above the Brezza and is positioned as the flagship SUV in Maruti Suzuki’s Arena showroom lineup, built on the same platform as the Grand Vitara. It’s been a big success in the market, recording strong sales soon after launch and even surpassing some established rivals in monthly figures.

Under the hood, the Victoris comes with multiple powertrain options to cater to different buyer needs. At its core is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with Smart Hybrid technology, offering a balanced mix of performance and fuel efficiency. This petrol engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. For customers who want maximum fuel economy, a strong hybrid powertrain with e-CVT is available, delivering impressive claimed mileage of around 28.65 km/l. There’s also a factory-fitted S-CNG option with a unique underfloor fuel tank design that preserves boot space while offering excellent efficiency of around 27 km/kg. Additionally, an ALLGRIP Select all-wheel-drive version with automatic transmission and multi-terrain driving modes is offered for those who want extra capability.

In terms of design and space, the Victoris has a contemporary and sculpted SUV look, featuring LED projector headlamps, a bold front grille, roof rails, connected LED tail lamps and aerodynamic alloy wheels. Its dimensions make it competitive in the mid-size SUV segment, providing a spacious cabin for passengers. The boot remains practical even on CNG variants because the fuel tank is hidden underneath, preserving cargo space — a thoughtful bit of engineering that enhances everyday usability.

Inside, the Victoris impresses with a feature-rich and tech-packed cabin. It comes with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.01-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in apps, OTA updates and Alexa voice support. For audio lovers, it offers a segment-first eight-speaker Infinity by Harman sound system with Dolby Atmos that delivers a “theatre-on-wheels” listening experience. Comfort and convenience are boosted by ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, automatic climate control, ambient lighting with 64 colours, gesture-controlled powered tailgate and a connected car suite with over 60 functions.

Safety is one of the Victoris’s strongest points, as it has secured a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests, making it one of the safest Maruti Suzuki SUVs ever. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts and parking sensors. On higher trims, the SUV also offers Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist and rear cross-traffic alert, along with a 360° HD camera that enhances driver confidence.

The Victoris is offered in a wide range of colour options, including several monotone and dual-tone finishes such as Mystic Green and Eternal Blue, allowing buyers to choose a style that suits their personality. Its pricing starts from around ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for base petrol variants and goes up to around ₹19.98 lakh for fully loaded strong hybrid trims, ensuring there’s a choice for many budgets and preferences.

Overall, the best things about the Maruti Suzuki Victoris are its versatile powertrain options, advanced technology and infotainment features, strong safety credentials, premium design and comfort, and practical everyday usability. It successfully blends fuel efficiency, modern connectivity, family-friendly space and SUV styling, making it a compelling choice in the highly competitive mid-size SUV space in India.
