Spotted Thar 3 Door Facelift What’s New in Design & Interiors?
The legendary Mahindra Thar is all set to receive a significant makeover, and this time it’s more than just a cosmetic refresh. The Thar 3-door facelift is gearing up to enter a more premium and tech-loaded segment while retaining its rugged DNA. With inspiration drawn from the recently unveiled Thar Roxx edition, the facelift promises exciting changes in both design and features.
The upcoming Thar will sport a new front grille similar to the Thar Roxx, giving it a more aggressive and bold stance. The updated grille enhances its road presence while maintaining its iconic off-road appeal. For the first time, the Thar facelift is expected to feature LED headlamps, offering better visibility and a more modern look compared to the existing halogen units.
The front bumper gets a fresh design, with sharper lines and integrated LED DRLs (expected), adding to the SUV's muscular front profile. A practical addition — the facelift will include electrically foldable outside rear-view mirrors, making urban driving and parking more convenient.
Inside, the facelifted Thar will borrow the steering wheel and infotainment system from the Thar Roxx, offering a more premium feel. Expect a larger touchscreen with connected car tech, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and better user interface.
May be A big surprise is the inclusion of ADAS Level 2 (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a segment-first for 3-door off-road SUVs. Features may include:
-
Lane Keep Assist
-
Adaptive Cruise Control
-
Forward Collision Warning
-
Emergency Braking
For better parking and off-road maneuvering, the facelift will include a 360-degree camera system, greatly improving visibility and convenience. The facelift will also feature newly designed alloy wheels, adding a fresh visual identity to the SUV while maintaining off-road capability.
While Mahindra has not made an official announcement yet, the updated Thar 3-door is expected to be unveiled in late 2025 or early 2026. Test mules have been spotted, confirming that the design and features are nearly production-ready
